Christopher Plummer, Oscar Winner and ‘Sound of Music’ Star, Dies at 91

Christopher Plummer, best known for his roles starring in films including “The Sound of Music” and “Beginners,” died on Friday morning at his home in Connecticut at the age of 91.

Plummer was best known for playing Captain von Trapp in the Oscar-winning musical “The Sound of Music.”

He also became the oldest actor ever to win the Academy Award for supporting actor in his role in “Beginners.”
