Alice In Chains Guitarist Finishes Work on Solo Album

Nearly 20 years after releasing his last solo album, Alice In Chains guitarist Jerry Cantrell has finished work on its follow-up.

“Finished my record tonight, one year to the day from when we started recording it,” Cantrell writes on Instagram. “What a crazy journey. Always is. Look forward to setting it free upon your ear holes sometime soon.”

The as-yet-untitled album follows 2002’s “Degradation Trip,” which featured appearances by Metallica bassist Robert Trujillo and Faith No More drummer Mike Bordin. A release date has not been set.

Would you say Cantrell’s solo work is vastly different from Alice In Chains music? What’s the most poorly executed solo effort in rock history?
