These Artists Are Among The Worst Offenders Of Hit Songs With Reference To Harmful Substances

According to an analysis done by the New York University School of Medicine, sixty percent of hit songs have references to drinking, smoking, or drugs.

Researchers analyzed chart hits between 2014 and 2020 to figure out how many lyrics and videos contained harmful substances.

Drake had the most with 23 videos, followed by Maroon 5 which had ten.

Tying in third place were Nicki Minaj, Taylor Swift, and Ed Sheeran, who all had seven. Other artists named in the study were Justin Bieber, Beyonce, Calvin Harris, One Direction, and Ariana Grande.

Do you think celebrities should cut the number of harmful substances such as alcohol, cigarettes, hookah (shisha), and marijuana named in their lyrics, or should parents be more aware and monitor their children accordingly?
