Ted Nugent Resigns From the NRA Board

After 26 years with the organization, rocker Ted Nugent has resigned from the National Rifle Association’s board.

According to an e-mail from the NRA’s general counsel, Nugent was stepping down “due to ongoing schedule conflicts.”

“What is more important in the American Dream right now than the God-given individual right to keep and bear arms to defend yourself from these recidivistic street thugs,” Nugent said on Newsmax less than a year ago.

Nugent added, “So, number one job in America is being a member of the National Rifle Association. It’s the most important civil rights organization in the world.”

What kind of scheduling conflicts do you think would keep Nugent from being on the board for the NRA?
