Study: 60 Percent Of All Gaming Is Mobile

Mobile gaming has overtaken consoles, a new study reveals.

Conducted by data.ai and IDC, the study reveals mobile gaming has accounted for 61 percent of the market share so far this year.

Players have already spend more than $1.6 billion on mobile games since January, and researchers estimate that figure will climb to $136 billion by the end of 2022.

The report comes after mobile games saw a jump in popularity in 2021, with 45 percent more games being downloaded for mobile devices in the first quarter of the year, according to the study. That comes out to 1.1 billion downloads a week, the study reveals.
