Streaming Of Rush Songs Surged 776% In US Following The Death Of Drummer Neil Peart

When it was reported last Friday that Neil Peart had passed away after a three-year battle with brain cancer, many fans in the US punched up the band in their playlists.
According to Nielsen Music/MRC Data, streaming of Rush songs surged more than 776% between January 10 and 13, with a combined 24.54 million plays of on-demand audio and video.
What were people blasting from the speakers? “Tom Sawyer” topped the list, jumping 305% compared to the three-day period preceding the news.
Purchases of their songs increased by 2,304% while album sales gained 1,820%. Those figures lead Billboard to expect that the Canadian trio will re-enter the charts.
