‘Saturday Night Live’ Co-Head Writer Michael Che Says He’s Leaving ‘Weekend Update’

Michael Che has co-anchored the Weekend Update on SNL with Colin Jost since 2014.
During a stand up comedy performance in Minneapolis he said this would be his last year doing it.
What is not clear is if he is only stepping down from the segment but staying on as a writer on the show or leaving the show altogether.
Cecily Strong previously anchored the Weekend Update and she has stayed on as a writer and occasional sketch performer.
