Sammy Hagar Performs ‘My Hero’ In Honor Of Taylor Hawkins

It’s been nearly two months since his death and the tributes keep coming for Foo Fighters’ drummer Taylor Hawkins.

Former Van Halen singer Sammy Hagar, who’s currently touring with his group The Circle, performed the Foo Fighters’ mega-hit “My Hero” dedicated to Hawkins last Friday in Memphis.

Hagar was brought on board to headline the Beale Street Music Festival after Foo Fighters canceled all remaining shows on their tour.

Hagar said he initially said no to stepping in but changed his mind. “With Dave Grohl’s blessing, we decided to do a broken-down version of one of my favorite songs from one of my favorite bands.”
