Two legendary ‘secret’ gigs by the Rolling Stones will finally be released in a new live album.

Live at the El Mocambo captures two shows played at the tiny 300-capacity El Mocambo club in Toronto in March of 1977.  The gigs were kept a tight secret at the time, with the Stones billed as an unknown blues band called ‘The Cockroaches’.

Two tracks from the album – “It’s Only Rock ‘N’ Roll” and “Rip This Joint” – are available to listen to right now.

Live at the El Mocambo will be out May 13th in two-CD or four-LP formats.

This summer, the Stones will embark on a 60th anniversary tour of Europe.

Ever see a band perform in a much smaller venue than usual?
