Before he takes over as the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame chairman this January, John Sykes is already announcing changes to how things will work.

Normally there would be about a month’s delay between the actual induction ceremony and when fans can view it on TV, but Sykes says the broadcast in 2020 will now be live.

Calling California “a cornerstone of the music business,” Sykes wants to see more operations take place in the Golden State.

“The best time to reinvent is when you’re on top of the game,” Sykes also told the LA Times, adding that he’s changing the nominating committee because “We have to reflect what fans truly love.”

Why do you think some bands are constantly ignored by the Hall? Do you think things will change under new leadership?
