Roadies say KISS’ Poor COVID Protocols Killed Guitar Tech

While guitar tech Francis Stueber’s cause of death is officially listed as COVID-19, three KISS roadies who worked with him have other ideas.

They say it was the band’s “poor COVID protocols” that killed the music industry vet.

Speaking to Rolling Stone on a condition of anonymity, the roadies say KISS failed to put enough safety protocols in place for their “End of the Road” tour — and it cost Stueber his life. “I couldn’t believe how unsafe it was, and that we were still going,” says one crew member, who’s vowed to never work with KISS again. “We’d been frustrated for weeks, and by the time Fran died, I just thought, ‘You have to be f***ing kidding me.’”

The roadies also tell Rolling Stone that Stueber wasn’t the only crew member to contract the virus. They say the father of three was among at least 13 workers who have tested positive since the tour resumed in September — yet no gigs were cancelled until Stueber’s death.

Would Stueber’s family win if they filed a lawsuit against KISS?
