R. Kelly Found Guilty On All Counts

R. Kelly was found guilty on all counts of racketeering, sexual exploitation of a child and kidnapping. The jury came to this decision on Monday at his federal trial held in U.S. District court in Brooklyn.

He faces decades behind bars upon sentencing, which is set for May 4th, 2022. The jury of seven men and five women concluded their deliberations after convening in New York on Friday, having sat through a trial that began on August 18th and lasted 23 days.

Kelly is also charged in a separate federal trial in Chicago and on additional state sex crime charges in Illinois and Minnesota, trials which he has also been awaiting in various detention centers in Chicago and New York.
