Noel Gallagher Says Today’s Kids Can’t Afford To Start Bands

Why aren’t more kids today starting rock bands?  They can’t afford it, according to Noel Gallagher.

In an interview with the Daily Mirror, the Oasis co-founder said: “Working class kids can’t afford to do it now, because guitars are expensive, there’s no rehearsal rooms. They’ve all been turned into wine bars and flats.

Gallagher will be touring the UK this summer with his solo band the High Flying Birds.

Does Noel have a point about it being too expensive to start a band?  Or is there another reason it’s less common these days?
