New Hendrix Documentary, Live Album Out Today

A new Jimi Hendrix documentary and a long-lost live album are out today, focusing on a Hendrix performance like none other in his career.

Music, Money, Madness… Jimi Hendrix in Maui focuses on a trip to Hawaii in July 1970, less than two months before the iconic guitarist’s death.

The trip was a chaotic one including a set performed at the foot of a volcano for just 400 people. The documentary includes unseen footage, while the concert has been digitally restored and released for the first time.

What’s your favorite live album? Why does Hendrix continue to captivate 50 years after his death?
