Mick Jagger, Keith Richards Welcomed Charlie Watts Back Days before his Death

The news of Rolling Stones drummer Charlie Watt’s death on Tuesday came just days after two of his bandmates posted messages on social media, welcoming him back into the band following surgery.

“We really look forward to welcoming Charlie back as soon as he is fully recovered,” Jagger wrote. “Thank you to our friend Steve Jordan for stepping in, so we can still play all the shows for you this fall.” In a separate post, Richards wrote, “This has been a bit of a blow to all of us, to say the least — and we’re all wishing for Charlie to have a speedy recovery and to see him as soon as possible.”

Watts, who died Tuesday at the age of 80, previously announced he was skipping the fall leg of the “No Filter” tour on the advice of his doctor, saying his recovery could “take a while.”

Do you expect the Stones to continue without Watts?
