Elton John’s “Farewell Yellow Brick Road” trek tops the list of the highest-grossing tours for the first half of 2019.

Receiving a boost from his biopic “Rocketman,” John grossed $100.8 million for 51 shows, earning him the number one position on Billboard’s top 10 rundown. KISS checks in at number five, taking in $58.6 million for 43 shows, while Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band land at number eight with $45.4 million from 32 shows. Closing out the top 10 is Metallica with $41.7 million, which the band earned in 21 performances.

However, taking into account the number of shows performed, one could argue that Metallica belongs at the top of the list. A little number crunching reveals each of the group’s 21 shows brought in $1.98 million. Adjusting the number of performances to match Elton John’s 51, Metallica’s final figure comes out to $101.3.
