Here’s a headline you weren’t expecting to read this morning:  A man in a wig was arrested after throwing cake at the Mona Lisa.

Police in Paris say the 36-year-old man appeared to be disguised as an old lady, wearing a wing and lipstick and arriving at the Louvre in a wheelchair.

After the cake-throwing incident, he was escorted out by security while shouting “Think of the Earth!  There are people who are destroying the Earth!”

Fortunately, the painting itself wasn’t damaged – but the cake left a “white creamy smear” on the glass protecting it.

Are there any famous works of art that you’ve seen in person?
