Local Movie About Lanesville Softball Player Opens Nationwide This Weekend
This is exciting! Back in April, Cordyon, IN hosted a red carpet premiere for “I CAN”, an inspirational new movie about Lanesville softball player, Katelyn Pavey. She was born with one arm and overcame the odds to become an All-American college softball star.
Tyler Sansom is a pastor in Corydon, IN and directed the movie, which will be his first nationwide-theatrical release film opening this Friday, September 22. The movie was filmed in Corydon, New Albany, and Louisville, and features local actors Amanda
Verkamp and Jeff Armstrong, along with national talent including Daniel Roebuck (“The Fugitive,”
“US Marshals,” “Matlock,” “LOST,” “The Munsters”), Vernon Wells (“Mad Max,” “Weird Science,”
“Commando”), and Cameron Arnett (“Overcomer,” “Running The Bases,” “I Still Believe”).
“I CAN” is nominated for Best Picture, Sansom is up for Best Director and Daniel Roebuck is up for Best Supporting Actor in the prestigious International Christian Film Festival. The movie already won Best Picture, Best Director and Best Actor (Roebuck) at the Florida Faith and Family Film Festival.
