King Crimson ‘Close To The Edge’ Named Best Progressive Rock Album Ever

Ah, progressive rock – where 20-minute songs about hobbits and spaceships are the norm. The folks at Ultimate Classic Rock recently ranked the 50 greatest prog-rock albums of all time.
Coming it at No. 1 was Yes, with their 1972 masterpiece Close To The Edge. King Crimson’s 1969 debut In The Court of the Crimson King followed at No. 2.
Genesis came in third with 1973’s Selling England by the Pound. Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon and Jethro Tull’s Thick as a Brick rounded out the top five.
