He’s one of the most admired guitarists who also helped shape the rock music landscape with his band Led Zeppelin, but did you know that Jimmy Page was never nominated for a Grammy before the nom he received for his solo song “Writes of Winter” back in 1989?

Page posted his Grammy memory this weekend on Instagram, saying he was surprised he was nominated in ’89 for Best Rock Performance but not surprised that he didn’t win. Page wrote “It had been the first Grammy nomination I had received and that included the work in Led Zeppelin.”

Fans commented with “Milli Vanilli won a Grammy which pretty much sums the Grammy’s up.” while other fans couldn’t believe that Led Zeppelin had never even been nominated.

Are the Grammy’s a joke in the rock world?
