James Hetfield on Metallica’s Future: ‘I Don’t Know What’s Going to Happen Next’

When Metallica vocalist James Hetfield made his first big appearance since entering rehab in 2019 at the Peterson Automotive Museum in Los Angeles this past week, he was asked if Metallica has any plans for a new album.

Hetfield replied “That’s a great question. We don’t know.” Hetfield seems to be taking life one day at a time in 2020, adding “Right now I’m sitting in Peterson Museum and I don’t know what’s going to happen next.”

According to Blabbermouth Hetfield isn’t afraid of the unknown, saying “That’s the beauty of this. Whatever is coming up? We don’t know. We thrive off of the fear of the unknown.”
