Iggy Pop Hopes To Live To 80 Just For This Reason

Iggy Pop has lived longer than most of his contemporaries, including all of his Stooges bandmates. It’s a fact that isn’t lost on the iconic rocker.

Speaking to The New Yorker, the singer says their deaths got him thinking about his own mortality, asking himself, “Well, okay, what are my probabilities?”

But fans don’t have to worry, he isn’t going anywhere for some time, joking, “My only thing is, to spite those who don’t like me, I want to make 80.” He also reveals in the interview that he knows people have him in their death pools.

Iggy’s latest album, Free, drops on September 8.
