Even after 50 years, ZZ Top still has plenty left to give. And while the Texas trio’s last record was released in 2012, something new could be on the way.

Speaking to Ultimate Classic Rock, Dusty Hill says, “there’s a good chance” at them having an album number 16, revealing, “We’ve got a lot in the can.”

The bearded bassist describes how the band’s songwriting process works, with ideas morphing into new tracks, leaving the original, discarded one still available.

And while guitarist Billy Gibbons has been putting out solo material of recent, he did admit to working on “a few ZZ Top starter pieces” with drummer Frank Beard.
