Gene Simmons Says KISS Retirement Is Out Of ‘Pride And Self-Respect’

Gene Simmons says the decision for KISS to retire after their current tour is about “pride and self-respect.”

Appearing on the radio show Whiplash with Full Metal Jackie, Simmons said “The last thing you wanna be is to be a world-champion boxer and stay in the ring too long… We’re gonna quit while we’re on top”.

That doesn’t mean it’ll be easy for Simmons to hang up his platform boots: “On the last show we ever do as a touring band, I’ll be crying like a 12-year-old kid whose foot you’re stepping on.

Do you think this really is the last KISS tour?  Ever see an artist live and think ‘they should have retired years ago’?
