Founding Sponge Guitarist Mike Cross Dead at 57

Mike Cross, a founding member and guitarist for the band Sponge, has died.
Sponge shared the sad news on social media, writing, “It is with heavy heart that we share the news of the passing of Mike Cross. One of the musical architects and founding member of SPONGE. His influence and talent will be missed.”
Along with guitar work, Cross co-wrote the band’s albums “Rotting Piñata,” “WaxEstastic,” and “New Pop Sunday.”
Mike Cross was 57.
