First Cut Of ‘Get Back’ Was 18 Hours Long

The new Beatles documentary Get Back is so big it will premiere over three nights – but at one point it was even longer.

Director Peter Jackson – known for the marathon-length Lord of the Rings movies – says his first cut of the movie was over 18 hours long.

The six-hour version will premiere Nov. 25-27 on Disney+ – but Jackson says he’d like to release a director’s cut one day.

Get Back was pulled from more than 60 hours of previously unseen footage of the Fab Four recording their final album, Let It Be.
