Fast Food Industry Having Tough Time With Staffing As U.S. Economy Bounces Back

Many fast-food chains are struggling to hire enough people to keep going as states loosen coronavirus restrictions.

Taco Bell, for example, is looking to hire at least 5,000 employees in one day on April 21 during parking lot interviews at their restaurants around the country.

“Total nightmare” is the way FAT Brands Inc CEO Andy Widerhorn describes the staffing situation for his restaurants which includes Johnny Rockets.

Widerhorn said, “The most recent stimulus check and unemployment benefits have been a catalyst for people to stay at home instead of looking for work.”

If you lost a job because of the pandemic, have you found a new one? What kinds of incentives could fast food restaurants use to hire more people?
