A New Hampshire distillery is turning an invasive species into whiskey.

Green crabs have plagued North America’s marine ecosystems for more than 200 years so Tamworth Distilling decided to get creative and create a green crab-flavored booze.

They make a crab stock, distill it using a vacuum still and then the stock is mixed with spices and combined with a bourbon base to form “Crab Trapper.”

The distillery calls it a “thinking, sipping” drink,”  that is “meant for you to explore your own perception through your olfactory senses.”

Green crabs eat tons of shellfish and destroy estuaries and fish habitats.

Would you try green crab whiskey?
