Disney Drops Marvel, Pixar And ‘Star Wars’ News At D23

At this weekend’s massive D23 Expo in Anaheim, the Walt Disney Company flexed its powerful movie & streaming muscles in both live-action and animation, with a slew of upcoming feature films and content for its Disney + streaming service. Among the biggest announcements:
- The Rise Of Skywalker clip and poster teases Rey going to the dark side; film will include Carrie Fisher
- Ewan McGregor set to return as Obi-Wan Kenobi for a series on Disney+ (is set around the time of Solo)
- Pixar to release two movies in 2020: Onward (Chris Pratt, Tom Holland) and Soul (Questlove, Tina Fey)
- Kit Harrington joins Game Of Thrones alum Richard Madden in Marvel’s The Eternals (as Black Knight)
- Black Panther 2 will release on May 6th of 2022, with Ryan Coogler returning as both writer and director
- Ms. Marvel, Moon Knight, and She-Hulk will all get new Disney+ shows, and are being set-up for movies
- Tom Holland spoke about Spider-Man leaving the Marvel Cinematic Universe: ‘I’ve had the time of my life’
