David Bowie Movie To Become TV Series
August 2, 2019 12:32PM EDT
A new TV series based on the 1976 David Bowie movie The Man Who Fell To Earth is in the works.
Based on a novel of the same name, the sci-fi classic is one of Bowie’s most memorable film roles as an alien named Thomas Jerome Newton, who travels to Earth in an attempt to save his family back home. The movie was also the inspiration for Bowie’s stage play Lazarus, which was staged shortly before his death in 2016.
The producers say the series will follow “the next chapter” of Bowie’s character. No cast or premiere date has been announced.
What’s your favorite Bowie film role? Could he have been a successful actor if he hadn’t focused on music?
