Corey Taylor Talks About Almost Joining Anthrax

In an interview on Sirius XM, Slipknot’s Corey Taylor described how he almost joined Anthrax.

The idea was thrown around after Anthrax’s 2003 album release of We’ve Come For You All. It was the last with John Bush on vocals.

The plan was hatched when Taylor performed a gig with Scott Ian.

“We all just went, Hmmm. That could be interesting.”

Slipknot’s label (Roadrunner) gave a hard no because they were still under contract to do another album.

“It was the first time I had ever felt like I was kind of backed into a corner. Not that I didn’t want to do a Slipknot album, but I was so into the idea of doing an Anthrax album.” But, he acknowledged it all worked out in the end.

Corey Taylor’s debut solo album is coming out on October 2.
