Corey Taylor Calls ‘Enter Sandman’ “Our Generation’s ‘Stairway To Heaven'”

Corey Taylor isn’t shy about how much he was influenced by Metallica – which is why he covered “Holier Than Thou” for the recent Metallica Blacklist tribute album.

Taylor says ‘Enter Sandman’ was “our generation’s ‘Stairway To Heaven'” and “one of the first songs I ever learned how to play on guitar”.

He called it “the Guitar Center virus” – one of those riffs you’d often hear being played at guitar shops across the nation.

The Metallica Blacklist includes 53 different Black Album covers to celebrate the 1991 album’s 30th anniversary – from artists like Taylor, Weezer, St. Vincent, and Miley Cyrus.
