Bryan Adams left two talk show hosts stunned after being asked about his 80s hit, “Summer of ‘69.”

Adams appeared on the Australian talk show “Today Extra” on Thursday (March 24) when he was asked the meaning behind “Summer of ‘69.” The singer abruptly got irritated saying, ‘I don’t want to talk about that, I want to talk about the new album. That’s why I’m here.’

The hosts were taken aback. David Campbell responded with, “Wow, okay.” Earlier this month in an interview with Independent Adams said the song title was actually “a joke,” and he told Louder in July of 2020 that the song was named after a sexual position.

‘Originally the song had been called The Best Days of My Life… I just threw in the lyric “It was the summer of ’69” and it stuck,” Adams added.
