Analyst Says PlayStation Is ‘Doomed’

PlayStation is “doomed” and will likely disappear within the next decade, according to one gaming industry analyst.

In fact, Michael Pachter says he believes the Sony gaming console is already living on borrowed time because he can’t see it keeping up with Xbox. “I think PlayStation is doomed and I think they are going to cease to exist as we know them in about 10 years,” Pachter says. “They can’t compete.”

According to Pachter, Xbox’s Game Pass subscription service and Microsoft’s recent acquisition of Activision sealed PlayStation’s fate — and he doesn’t see how the console will be able to bounce back.
