Alice Cooper says Politics have no Place in Rock Music

Music and politics should not be mixed; that’s the word from Alice Cooper.

“I don’t think rock ‘n’ roll and politics belong in the same bed together, but a lot of people think it does — because we have a voice, and we should use our voice. But again, rock ‘n’ roll should be anti-political, I think.”

Cooper says he formed his opinion as a child, when he’d play rock music to drown out his parents’ political discussions. “When my parents started talking about politics, I would turn on the Stones as loud as I could,” he recalls. “I don’t want to hear about politics, and I still feel that way.”

Do you think celebrities should use their status to make a difference? Or should they just stick to what they do best?
