12 Albums Certified Double Diamond

According to the Recording Industry Association of America, an album is certified Diamond when it hits 10 million in sales.

Double that? That’s Double Diamond and only 12 albums have achieved this accomplishment.

Both the Eagles’ ‘The Greatest Hits (1971-1975)’ and Michael Jackson’s ‘Thriller’ have actually achieved Triple Diamond status, topping over 30 million units sold.

As far as just Double Diamond, there’s The Eagles’ ‘Hotel California,’ AC/DC’s ‘Back in Black,’ and Led Zeppelin’s ‘Led Zeppelin IV.’

Also on the list of Double Diamond sellers is The Beatles’ ‘The Beatles,’ Billy Joel’s ‘Greatest Hits-Volume I & Volume II,’ Pink Floyd’s ‘The Wall,’ Garth Brooks’ ‘Double Live,’ ‘Cracked Rear View’ from Hootie and the Blowfish, Fleetwood Mac’s ‘Rumours,’ and Shania Twain’s ‘Come on Over.’

Do you own any of these Double Diamond albums? Which is your favorite? How has album sales changed over the years?
