It’s been 11 years this week since Metallica released Death Magnetic with tunes like “The Day That Never Comes”, “All Nightmare Long” and “Broken, Beat & Scarred.”

The album was produced by Rick Rubin after the band dealt with mostly negative reviews for 2003’s Saint Anger. Many mainstream fans couldn’t believe that Bob Rock, the same man who produced the band’s mega-smash Black album in 1991 would deliver Metallica in a rushed, sloppy, and what some fans say lazy way.

Do you think that Death Magnetic helped to save Metallica’s career? Is Saint Anger actually that bad after all of these years? Which album do you think best represents Metallica?
