A staggering one in five Americans believes COVID-19 vaccines contain tiny microchips that, once injected into unsuspecting patients, will allow the government to monitor their every move.

That’s according to a survey conducted by YouGov and the Economist, which also found Republicans are the least likely to get their shots. Of those surveyed, 29 percent said they will never get vaccinated against COVID, compared to just 4 percent of Democrats who say the same thing.

The study’s results come as infections among unvaccinated Americans continue to rise. According to the CDC, not one single person who’s died from COVID-19 this year has been vaccinated.

Why are people so willing to believe something they have no proof of?
